Please join the School of Management Alumni Association along with 400+ Western New York business executives for an evening of networking while the School of Management honors five individuals for their achievements. This year’s Annual Awards Banquet will honor Louis P. Ciminelli, Chairman and CEO of LPCiminelli Inc., as the “Niagara Frontier Executive of the Year.” The banquet will be held at the Millennium Airport Hotel Buffalo (formerly the Sheraton Four Points Hotel) on November 1, 2007. An open-bar cocktail hour will start at 5:30 p.m., featuring premium brands. Dinner will be at 6:30p.m, with the menu including a full-course, dual-entree meal served with wine. The University at Buffalo School of Management Alumni Association (SOMAA) is excited to announce our new virtual career success center. This service will be offered free of charge to all SOMAA members. Through our continued efforts to meet your career management needs, we have partnered with CareerBeam, LLC to bring you the best company and industry research tools, international databases and lead generation technology available in the market. Our success center also has a career development seminar series that has assessments, professional resume and cover letter builders and search strategy resources for you. Just a few highlights and features now available to you include:
• Job Trigger technology that continually scans more than 20,000 business sources for over 150 categories of “job trigger events” which indicate an actual job posting or opportunity. Over 25,000 of these new job triggers are produced every day. Triggers that match your criteria are E-mailed to you as job leads.
• Search Companies area that includes over 17 million organizations containing company overview, key information and business intelligence. You’ll have access to 20 million industry contacts, many with biographies and contact information, which is great for connecting with alumni.

As an alumnus of the UB School of Management, you can apply for a tuition grant of up to $2000 from the School of Management Alumni Association for yourself or for a member of your family. This grant is new for the 2008-09 academic year and can be applied toward any University at Buffalo educational program including any degree or non-degree program from any academic unit (Management, Law, Engineering, Arts & Sciences, etc.). This grant is a School of Management Alumni Association members-only benefit. If you are not a member, you can register when you apply for the grant.
